Create a Vault Out
A Model Object of type Vault Out can be created in the Business Vault Layer.
What is a Vault Out
A Vault Out is a free-style modeling object that provides a particular perspective on top of the other raw vault or business vault model objects for downstream layers, specific consumers or front-end tools (like views for multidimensional cubes).
It represents an transformative object which can use model objects from the Raw Vault and Business Vault layer as sources.
They can then be used as sources in the Mart Layer.
Creation steps
There are two possibilities to create a Vault Out Model Object:
- Create a Model Object with the Wizard:
- Recommended possibility
- Use the Wizard Create a Vault Out from other Raw Vault or Business Vault model objects that contains the following steps:
- Create Model Object
- Create Dataflow
- Map selected Terms: exclude the Business Key(s) = {true}, exclude the Foreign Key(s) = {true}
- Add to View
- Create a Model Object manually:
- Create a Model Object of type Vault Out in the Business Vault Layer
- Create a Dataflow Set
- Add a Model Object to the Dataflow Set: add the needed Model Object(s) from the Raw Vault or Business Vault Layer
- Auto-map the Source Terms: select the auto-map mode and auto-map all the needed Source Terms from the Source Model Object
