      Understand the Discovery application

      Discovery application

      The Discovery application uses metadata ingestion to produce discovery files.

      It is a portable application that requires no installation or additional tools.

      It uses pull-based metadata ingestion: it ingests metadata from data systems by connecting to them and extracting metadata in a file.

      Sources

      The Discovery application can discover metadata from multiple sources, such as Microsoft SQL Server, CSV files, Snowflake, and Oracle.
