Each entry names the symptom you see, its cause and the fix. Afterwards you know which file or table holds the details and which article covers the fix. The deployment and load entries use Microsoft SQL Server with the native load control; the other platforms report in their own deployment and load tools. ### Where problems are reported - The model objects in the client: each business rule a model object breaks appears as an error or warning on it. See [Understand warnings and errors](https://knowledge.bigenius-x.com/understand-warnings-and-errors?hsLang=en). - Generate Artifacts in the client: it does not start while a model object has a validation error, and it does not offer the download when generation hits an error. - The deployment output: messages of `deploy.ps1` and of the deployment validation. - The load-control tables `Execution` and `Execution_Step`. ### Validation #### You cannot generate because of a validation error Message: the error shown on the model object, for example `Model object has delete detection method PartialSet configured but no partial terms are selected.` Cause: a model object breaks a business rule with severity Error. The client does not generate the project while any model object has an error. Fix: look up the message in [Business Rules](https://knowledge.bigenius-x.com/best-practices/business-rules?hsLang=en), correct the model object and generate again. #### A model object has a validation warning Message: the warning shown on the model object. Cause: the model object breaks a business rule with severity Warning. Warnings do not block generation, and the objects are generated. Fix: read the business rule. Some warnings lead to a deployment error, for example an [invalid data type configuration](https://knowledge.bigenius-x.com/invalid-data-type-configuration-business-rule?hsLang=en). ### Generation #### The artifacts cannot be downloaded after generation Cause: generation ran but a template failed for a model object. The client does not offer incomplete artifacts for download. Fix: see [Error when parsing template script](https://knowledge.bigenius-x.com/error-when-parsing-template-script-business-rule?hsLang=en), correct the cause and generate again. ### Placeholder replacement #### The replacement script stops before it changes files Message: `Output folder not found` Cause: the folder passed as `-ArtifactOutputPath` does not exist. Fix: create the folder and run `replace_placeholders.ps1` again. The script prints `-> using input folder ` before it replaces values; check that it names your artifacts. ### Deployment #### Deployment validation found errors Message: `Deployment validation found errors.` and `Msg 50001 ... Deployment validation failed.` Cause: since Generator 2.2, `deploy.sql` ends with `SQL\validate_deployment.sql`. It refreshes every generated view and procedure and prints one line per failure, for example `Error in [].[rv].[RDV_HUB_load_customer_hub_Hashing]: Invalid object name '.st.STG_ST_CUSTOMER'.` A table or view the object reads is missing or has changed, often because an earlier statement of the deployment failed. Fix: scroll up to the first `Msg` of the deployment output, correct it and deploy again. #### A table cannot be created Message: for example `Msg 2717 ... The size (5000) given to the parameter 'CUSTOMER' exceeds the maximum allowed (4000).` Cause: a term has a data type the platform rejects; the model object also has a validation warning. Fix: correct the data type and generate again. ### Load #### The execution finished with errors Message: `Execution plan [] completed by execution [] with FAILED or DISABLED load steps.` Cause: a loader failed. Its step has the result `Failure` and the error in `ErrorDescription`; the steps that depend on it are `Disabled`. Fix: correct the cause and resume the execution, as described in [Execute Load Control](https://knowledge.bigenius-x.com/execute-load-control?hsLang=en) and [Monitor Load Control](https://knowledge.bigenius-x.com/monitor-load-control?hsLang=en). ### Example A Satellite has a term of data type `nvarchar` with length 5000. The model object shows the warning `Model object contains invalid data type configurations.`, and generation runs. The deployment then stops at the table: ``` Msg 2717, Level 16, State 2: The size (5000) given to the parameter 'CUSTOMER' exceeds the maximum allowed (4000). ``` The views of the Satellite fail with `Invalid object name`, and the deployment validation reports them.
