Switch to another Import Version
Let us assume you have done a first Import of a Linked Project and created some Model Objects from it.
Now, your Linked Project from which you exported and then Imported has changed, and you have made a second Import Version.
The switch to another Import Version feature allows you to:
- Compare the changes between the two Import Versions
- Update the Model Objects according to these changes
Compare Import Versions
To compare Import Versions, open the Import left menu option in the Data Connections overview page:
Click on the Context menu for a Version that is not currently in use and select the Switch Version option:
The Impact of updating the current source model side panel window opens:
It contains:
- The list of Model Objects affected by a change in the Version with an indicator icon, depending on the change:
- M for Modified: there will be changes in an existing Model Object if I apply the new Version
- D for Deleted: an existing Model Object will be deleted if I apply the new Version
- The part of the original Version that concerns the selected Model Object on the left-hand side (1).
- The part of the new Version for the selected Model Object
- The differences between the 2 Versions
For each Model Object on the left-hand side, we can identify the differences in panels 2 and 3:
- New elements are highlighted in GREEN:
- Elements that have disappeared are highlighted in RED:
You can then update the Model Objects to reflect these changes, if needed.
