To create a Model Object, you have two options:
- Create a Model Object manually
- Create a Model Object from another Model Object with a wizard (see below)
Create a Model Object with the Wizard
To create a Model Object from another Model Object with the Wizard, click on the Context menu for a Model object on the Dataflow Modeling overview page:
The list of available Wizards is displayed:
The list of target Model Objects you can create with a Wizard from a Model Object depends on the Generator Configuration.
The available Wizard steps are:
- Create Model Object
- Create Dataflow
- Create Relations
- Create Multiple Relations
- Create Relations with Role
- Create Relations Driving or Not Driving
- Map Foreign Key Terms
- Map selected Terms
- Map selected Business Keys
- Add to View
The Model Object Type descriptions provide a list of the available wizard steps.
Select a Wizard:
- (Optional) Intermediate steps can appear depending on the Wizard
Some steps are linked and will be skipped if there is no sense to display them.
As an example, if you don't create a Relationship, there is no sense in displaying the step to map the Foreign Keys.
The wizard will go directly to the next step: map Selected Terms.
- Between each step, a BACK button permits you to go back to the previous step to update the selections/values:
- After the last wizard step, the new Model Object is created in the appropriate Layer (according to the target Model Object Type):
- A notification confirms the creation:
