Create a Model Object manually
To create a new Model Object, click on the Add button of the desired Layer on the Dataflow Modeling overview page:
The Add a Model Object to a Model View side panel window opens:

Click on the NEW button:
The Add a new Model Object to a Model View side panel window opens:
Fill in the following information:
- Name: fill in the desired Model Object's name
- Description (optional): fill in the desired Model Object's description
- Model Object Type: choose the desired Model Object type.
The Model Object name should be unique:
- Per Source system for a Source Model Object
- Per Model Object Type for non-Source Model Objects
The available Model Object Types for a Layer are determined by the Semantic configuration of the Generator applied to the Project.
In this example, the Layer Stage can contain only 1 Model Object Type:
- Stage
Click on the SAVE button.
A notification confirms the successful creation:
The new Model Object is now available in the Add a Model Object to a Model View side panel window:
You can now add the Model Object to the Model View.
Please note: The Source Model Objects for the Source layer are created from the Discovery. As explained in this article, you can manually create a Source Model Object. This functionality is primarily intended for testing or demonstration purposes. Keep in mind that manually created Source Model Objects cannot be mapped to a Discovery.
