Create a Business PIT
A Model Object of type Business PIT can be created in the Business Vault Layer.
What is a Business Point In Time table
In Data Vault modeling, a Business Point In Time table (or Business PIT table) is connected to a Business Hub or a Business Link and has a similar structure as a Business Satellite.
It stores all distinct load dates of all attached Business Satellites.
It helps you load data from your Data Vault into the Data Mart, e.g., a dimension table or view.
Creation steps
A Business PIT can be created in the same way as a PIT: see Create a PIT.
Properties
A Business PIT Model Object can be configured through the same Properties as a PIT: see Create a PIT.
Except:
- The wizard is called Create Business PIT from a Raw Vault or Business Vault Model Object
Default Terms
A Business PIT Model Object will include the same Default Terms as a PIT: see Create a PIT.
Business Rules
A Business PIT Model Object will include the same Business Rules checks as a PIT: see Create a PIT.
